
Omer Dekel
Omer Dekel is a dedicated father of three children (all attending Welsh Valley Middle School) and a long-time Lower Merion resident. Originally from Israel, Omer immigrated 17 years ago and has made Lower Merion his home. He holds advanced degrees in computer science and brings over 20 years of experience in technology, innovation, and data analytics – expertise he hopes to leverage for data-driven governance on the School Board. Omer’s background includes service in the Israeli Defense Forces and leadership in the tech industry, where he currently directs AI engineering at a software company.

Having been actively involved in school district meetings and parent organizations, Omer has seen areas where more transparency and accountability are needed . He is running to bring fresh perspectives and decisive action to LMSD’s challenges – from addressing antisemitism and improving special education to fostering transparency and community collaboration . Omer’s platform centers on “Transparency, Accountability, Excellence – for every student” . He advocates setting clear objectives with measurable results, conducting regular public audits, and using data to drive decisions. Omer is committed to fiscal responsibility and open communication, believing that parental involvement is crucial to a supportive educational environment . With his blend of technical skill and parent perspective, Omer aims to ensure the district’s policies are both innovative and accountable to the community.
